Proposed City Hall Plaza FAQ's:
The Better Bountiful Committee are filing a lawsuit in response to Bountiful Cities rejection of the referendum signed by 4,126 people.
Oct. 25th, 2016 The Bountiful City Council votes to move forward with plan despite large opposition.
Unnecessary new City Hall Estimated to cost $13+ million of residents tax dollars. (Additional RDA funds will be used for surrounding area).
Additional tax dollars set aside for redevelopment, called RDA funds will be used for the plaza construction.
That equates to about $440 for every man, woman, and child in Bountiful. ($1760 for a family of 4)
Stoker School will be lost.
Current city campus will be lost.
The University of Utah extension will be lost (The U of U will leave Southern Davis County)
A statement from a professionally commissioned "Use and Needs Analysis of the current city hall: "The Bountiful City Hall can and should have a useful life that is double the current age of this building in order to maximize the long term benefit to the City."
Many many messages through email, social media, and meetings with the Mayor and Council Members have been presented asking for their efforts to stop have gone unheard.
Informed citizens: "The city's infrastructure is in an un-maintained state, and there doesn't seem to be a complete plan to repair it. It is not getting the focus it needs, and hasn't for near 20 years."
